Five Summer Scents

Happy last day of the month everyone. I hope everyone has had an awesome July with wonderful warm weather. It's been crazy hot this whole month, with only one day of rain and even then it was really hot. As I have been pretty much makeup free this month, I didn't have much to report back beauty wise. I have, however, been wearing a ton of perfume everyday for the sake of the people around me and also for my own pleasure of course. It's been roughly 30 degrees this whole month so the amount I’m sweating is crazy, probably a world record. So I definitely thought it would be a good idea to spray something nice on my body.

So here are my top five summer scents:

Roger&Gallet - Rose
This is probably my favourite of favourite scents out of the five. It smells of sweet roses and has a very sophisticated scent.

The Body Shop - Madagascan Vanilla Flower
I absolutely love vanilla so there was no doubt about this scent. It doesn't smell like normal vanilla, it has a sort of hot climate vibe of vanilla, if you get what I'm trying to say.

Vera Wang - Princess
I have had this perfume for as long as I can remember and repurchased it over and over again. It's really hard to describe the scent but I’m going to give it a go. It's quite a sweet and calming smelling perfume and really does smell of what I would picture a princess to smell like. Ok that was an awful attempt of describing the perfume, so you should definitely just go and smell it for yourself hehe.

Dior - Miss Dior Cherie
This has a florally sophisticated scent and I absolutely love it. I actually have the deodorant instead of the perfume as it is a lot cheaper, so why not. It smells exactly the same as the perfume.

DKNY - Be Delicious
Lovely apple scented perfume. Though can be overpowering if you put on too much.

So those are my top five perfumes/deodarants/mist
I hope you enjoyed :) xoxo

Quick and Easy Food for Busy People

I thought I'd write another recipe post as it's been a while since my last. My other recipes took quite a while to prepare and cook, so today I thought I'd share with you a dish that’s really quick and easy, yet very filling. I don't know about you, but I was pretty lazy when it came to making food at university. I would tend to buy food on campus or have take away for dinner. It was definitely not a budget friendly way to go, so in my second year I tried very hard to cut down on the take aways. I bought a cookbook and borrowed several from my friends. But even though the recipes were supposed to be quick 101 budget meals, they really weren't. I really wish I had been introduced to the blogging world sooner. There are so many inspirational and mouth watering recipes that I really didn't need to spend money on a cookbook.

Enough of the rambling. Here is how you make this delicious chorizo pasta. It's extremely quick and easy which is convenient for busy people, students and pasta lovers. It also tastes just as good the next day so why not make a little extra for your packed lunch.

Here are the ingredients:

Chorizo 400g
Tomato paste 1tbs
Mozzarella x2 (normal size)
Pepper x1
Tomatoes (As many as you want)
Pasta

Cut up the chorizo into small pieces and then chuck them into a large frying pan with oil. Boil water to cook the pasta in. Once the chorizo is cooked, add the table spoon of tomato pasta and mix that in. Then add the sliced mozzarella and mix around till it melts. You then add in the pepper and tomatoes. When the pasta is cooked just add it to the frying pan and mix around.

There you have it. Easy and simple chorizo with pasta.

Hope you enjoyed reading :)

My week in pictures #1

Instagram account: mllekarenanne

It's about time that I share with you my Instagram photos. I wouldn't say that I have a particular theme going on. They are just photos of my day to day life. I put a lot of effort into them and for some reason I'm very picky in choosing my photos. I have to take loads of photos of the same things till I'm satisfied. I'm not so sure why. It's a compulsion I think.

So here they are. I hope you like them :)

From left to right:

1. Homemade kiwi and lime smoothie. It was like an explosion of goodness in my mouth.

Here's the recipe for anyone who would like to try, it's super easy:

2 kiwis
1/2 a lime
400g vanilla ice cream
1.5dl milk

Pour in the milk first. Then squeeze the lime. Scoop out the two kiwis and add them in. Lastly add the ice cream and blend it altogether. Et voila you have an amazingly tasty and easy to do smoothie.

2. Cute pepper plant I found in the old town in Stockholm. My caption was 'Why buy flowers when you can have peppers.'

3. Enjoying a mojito at TGIF. They do the most amazing mojitos. Also wearing my new &otherstories shirt.

4. Throwbackthursday photo of me and my sister in our matching Chinese outfit.

5. Me and my boyfriend in Uppsala for the day.

6. At Gröna Lund, an amusement park in Stockholm. Yes we went on that ride. 121meters up in the air. Needless to say I was terrified.

7. An old theatre turned into a really cute Urban outfitters store. You can see the changing rooms in the back on that platform. Such a movie feeling I think.

8. My new vintage looking dress from Sheinside. I absolutely love it. The detailing is so beautiful. It reminds me of Dolce&Gabbana styled dresses, but so much cheaper.

9. Lunch out at Vapiano. I love how there is a tree right in the middle of the table.

June Glossybox by Lovisa Burfitt

This month's glossybox is my very first 'designer box' by Lovisa Burfitt, a Swedish fashion illustrator. I absolutely love the design of this box. It's very stylish and definitely has more thought put into it than the plain pink boxes. I'm not a big fan of the pink boxes to be honest. Also, instead of five products I got six which altogether is worth over 400kr.

Naobay - Protective Shampoo&Shower Gel (Org. price 165kr/250ml)

This is a 2-in-1 shampoo and shower gel which is made out of 99% natural ingredients. It has a very citrusy smell which I really like. I was never really interested in trying shampoo and shower gel 2 in 1 as I always thought that it would still leave my hair greasy. I'm really glad I did get to try it out though, as it actually cleans my hair just as well as normal shampoo.

Naked Lips - Organic Lip Balm, Sea Buckthorn (Org. price 42kr/st)

This lip balm has done wonders to my lips. I have never found a lip balm that makes my lips so soft and smooth almost instantly after applying it onto my chapped lips. It smells of oranges which is amazing. It has sea buckthorn oil which is said to have many benefits to the skin. Also, it's 99% ecological and has 100% natural ingredients.

Färg - Eyeliner (Org. price 99kr/st)

I'm not a fan of eyeliner, so don't really have much to say about this product. I will probably give it away to someone who can give it a better home.

Benefit Cosmetics - They're Real! Mascara (Org. price 215kr/8.5g)

There has been so much hype around this product and the push up liner but I really don't think it's worth the hype. Really sorry to all benefit lovers. I much prefer my Yves Rocher and Maybelline mascaras. One thing that really bothered me with the wand was that it felt like there were spikes sticking out and I kept on stabbing my eye. But that's just me. I prefer the flexible bristles.

Nivea - In-Shower Body Milk for Dry Skin (Org. price 65kr/250ml)

I thank the person who invented this product. It has made my life that much easier. I spend maybe a couple minutes more in the shower putting the body milk on my body, but I probably would've spent the extra time in there anyway. Basically, what you do is put this product on after you've washed your shower gel off, then you also have to wash off the body milk and it acts as a moisturising body lotion. So instead of having to put on body lotion afterwards I get it all done in the shower. I don't know if anyone else feels this way. But not having to put on bodylotion after showering is just aweeeeesome!

Schwarzkopf Pro - BC Oil Miracle Finishing Treatment - BONUS! (Org. price 249kr/100ml)

Last but not least, the bonus product in my glossybox. Like all of the other scented products that I got in this glossybox, this too smells amazing. A mixture between oil and orangey camomile scent. It helps give a shiny finish to the hair and also is a heat protectant.

Overall, this is one of the better glossyboxes I've gotten so far. I was hoping for a bit more make up but I'm still really pleased. I even went out and bought the Nivea product in full size.

I'd give this glossybox an 8/10

Looking forward to my next glossybox. The theme is Stars&Stripes. So Stay tuned.
